what about t5 bulbs guys any recomendations??? im gonna build a 8 bulb fixture tomorrow need a idea for the lamps...i have always ran t5s as supps never as actual light...tank will be sps dominate with a few challies!!!!lol

Whats the thinkness of the acrylic?I would think you could go thinner with top bracing mabey.

It's half inch... It requires 3/4" but it was all I had for scraps... I can live with the slight deflection about 1/8"...
Ya I could have used thinner stuff if I put a euro brace on it but I wanted rimless!!! This is gonna be real clean when it is all said and done...;)

I see.Im in between buying a new tank or building one.I can build it for about $100 but I can go get an Osaka Italy Impoted Style tank for $400 with stafire front glass,filter,light,heater,other goodies.So I dont know what I do at this point,but I guess time will tell!

I would love to try to build a tank myself one of these days, I would just be worried about its ability to hold water, lol. Great job, it looks great!

I think you would be fine with 6 bulbs instead of 8 on that bad boy TL, I had a 6 bulb on my 24x24x20 and it was more then enough.Especially it is only 12" tall.

well i got the light made...;)
i made a aluminum box and overlayed it with a thin black precoat....
let there be light...;) also made nice clean hanging cables....
