I just had a question about the True Percula Clownfish. I bought one about a month ago. I want to have a pair but im not sure if i bought a new one if they would get along. ALso one other question. I want an Anemone but i have only had my tank up and running 2 1/2 months now. I was told i should wait untill at least 6 months. Do you think the clown will host it if its not had one for so long???

Thanks

If you get another, try to find one that is different in size. The larger will turn female, and the smaller will remain male, and hopefully they will pair up.

Clowns are funny about hosting. I had a tomato clown and an anemone for 6 months, the clown wouldn't go near the anemone. So, I got 2 ocellaris thatI saw hosting in a plastic anemone at the store. I put them in my tank, and minutes later they were hosting in my anemone. Tomato clown still could care less. So 3 months go by and all of the sudden, the tomato kicks the ocellaris out of the anemone and claims it as his own. So the answer I am trying to give you is ...who knows if they will host after 6 months. I would say yes, but you never can be sure.

Thanks Ken,
That is a good idea to get one slightly bigger, maybe mine will be a little intimidated by a little bigger clown. The Pet store said it was a true Percula clown but i can't tell the difference between a Ocellaris or Percula... any suggestions?
