I was getting burnt sps and I think my lighting is way to intense. I'm running 2 kessil A360WE's in the 36" Aquatic life hybrid fixture with 2 ati blue plus and 2 ati purple plus bulbs over a 4x20 tank

My new schedule as of today is the following

2 Kessils
9:00 am 0% color 5% intensity
12:00 pm 25% color 55% intensity
1:30 pm 50% color 60% intensity
2:30 pm 50% color 60% intensity
4:00 pm 25% color 55% intensity
9:00 pm 0% color 0% intensity

T-5's 2 purple plus 2 blue plus

11:00 am on
5:00 pm off

Par peaks at 250-260 12 inches below the water line for 4 hours a day. This is where the majority of my sps frags are....

Before adding the T-5's I was running the LED's at 80%

Don't know if this will help at all, but I'm using this light as well with an AP700, I have a 40 breeder so it's only 16 inches deep, but my Kessil doesn't go above 30% with the t5s on. But again my tank is more shallow than yours and most of my sps are 7 to 8 inches under the water line with the light 8 inches off the waters surface. Tagging along to follow your progression :) any pictures of your setup? Id love to see :)

I would take the approach that the Kessils are supplementing the T5s - the T5 have better coverage and spectrum. I would run the T5 for the entire photoperiod and use the Kessils to supplement some things that you want to see. I would keep the whites down on the Kessil. If you are only at 250 PAR, then they are not too intense... but they might have too much white spectrum peaks.

I run my Kessil 360's no higher than 50% intensity. Right now my peak intensity is 45%. I run my 4-T5 bulbs for 2.5 hrs currently. Doesn't seem like a lot of light, but I get good Acropora growth and color.

It's amazing the difference between tanks. This is from a chat I was having with someone at bulk reef supply. They run there kessils at 100% peak 8 inches above the tank..

If it helps, my setup is as follows: at 9am my kessils come on at minimum intensity (about 15% on my Apex). The intensity on the Kessil ramps up and peaks at noon, running at 100% until 4pm, and then ramps back down to zero at 9pm. The first bank of T5's comes on at 11, which is just two blue plus bulbs. These stay on until 5pm, so basically the blue plus run for an extra hour on either side of the peak light period. The second bank of T5's has a blue plus and a coral plus and only turns on during the peak period from 12-4. White balance/spectrum on the Kessil is purely adjusted to get the color I prefer on my tank.

I hear lots of people running them 100%... On another note since turning mine down I'm seeing polyps extend out on things I had zero polyp extension on

I'm a reefer that if I don't see some polyps out on my Acro's during the day I've officially entered the danger zone and I need to correct whatever is wrong asap. lol

Reviving an old thread. I have a kessil a360x over a reefer 170 and it hits 100% for 2hrs out of the day. During that time I’m getting 250 par dead center half way down. I have a bunch of sps and I’ve decided to add a t5 hybrid to get closer to 400 in the same place.
