I used to have a large bird wrasse do that every time I walked by my tank!! It taught my decent sized lionfish to do it which became a real mess LOL

I've heard of triggers doing it but was surprised when the butterfly started doing it.

My valentini puffer would do this :)
I use to balance a chunky piece of food on my finger tip just above the waterline trying to teach him to blow water on it to get it. Sort of like putting a crab in a glass jar for an octopus I suppose :)
He didn't learn it, but he tried his best!

I've not heard of any butterfly doing it either Brett. Hopefully you don't have carpet or something there that would get damaged from the behavior.

That is a neat idea Tyler to train the puffer like that! Reminds me of the Archerfish from the amazon river that spits bugs off of branches to eat. Wish I would have thought about that with my old bird wrasse!

My one spot fox face would do it when I was nesr thr tank.

He would also come up to the top and roll on his side to get a good scratchin'

Have never had a fish with as much personality as him.

THAT'S funny! I have a melanarus wrasse in my frag system. He'll come over to where I'm at swimming all cool, looking for food. IF I ignore him, he spits water at me..."FISH!"

I had a pair of triggers that would both shoot water out of the tank at me if I walked by and they hadn't been fed atleast twice already that day.

Beautiful fish BTW. It doesn't quite look like a CBB, is it the muelleri??

Haha Gabe, too late he's in the display, too hard to catch now.

C4, yes he's a muelleri. So much hardier IMO, didn't take any abuse from my tangs at all.

I want a muelleri but I never see them offered on LA/DD, at least not in the last year or so.

They've had like 3 in the last couple months or so. They're also on the wholesale list at my LFS.

Great video and awesome fish!! My fuzzy dwarf lionfish used to do that.
