There is this bubble mesh on a medium small feather duster just below the tube worms opening. I assume the feather duster is doing this but was just wondering if anyone knew for what purpose? I’m just curious. I was almost thinking it was scaffolding because it was planing on rapidly expanding its tube or something lol.

Maybe a vermitted snail ? As these have tubes they live in also and send out a mucus web, usually spiral at base of tube.

Or is the mesh stuff a sort of sponge maybe?

Im new but maybe some pictures so other guys/ gals can see whats what?

Ah i think I accidently double posted but here are some pictures.
It looks spongey like dots are suspended in mid air in a sphere spherical shape.
