Hello,

I’m wondering if I can use my Tunze 9012 DC skimmer in a sump ? The sump would be 36 x 18 x 14 (30 gallons) and the display tank 110 gallons for a total of 140 gallons.

If it can work, will it be efficient and powerful enough ?

Thanks !

It would work as long as you have a deep enough section in the sump. At least 10" of the skimmer need to be submerged and you want about 1/2" of space under the skimmer for water to exit, so 10.5" is the minimum compartment depth. The 9410 DC would generally be the in sump equivalent.
