Anyone here to confirm that Tunze DC skimmers can be controlled externally similar to their Turbelle DC pumps (6055, 6095 etc.)? There's a protective rubber cap on top of the controller, AFAICS with a DIN5 (?) socket behind it. But the manual doesn't mention anything about its purpose.

Well yes, those skimmers have their dedicated control units. But what I'd like to know is whether they are voltage-controllable by 3rd party equipment, which can easily be done with their Turbelle DC pumps.

There is no DIN port on the skimmers, it is assumed you will set only one constant speed and this access would not be useful. Since the housing is the same, the rubber cap is still present, but no port is under the cap.

I just wonder why the 9004 DC and 9012 DC user manual both show a socket mounted on the controller board in that position (page 28 resp. 32).

Typically manuals are made quite early in prototyping and development, you can also see an additional button that is not present because the photo is made using the 7090.500. You can actually replace the 7090.250 with a 7090.500, but I see nothing gained by doing so.

Got it. Many thanks for your help!

I thought of a single central 'feeding' button temporarily changing pump programs and also pausing surface skimming, which now had to be done by separating the device from the power source with an SSR.
