This new Tunze dosing pump is very cool. Wonder when it will be available?

I love how you can easily open the mechanism, and dont have to use any fittings. If it't not crazy expensive i'll be buying one!

The app is designed to control a lot of stuff besides just the orca that I use it for. I looks like at some point it may offer dosing recommended on test results. Just going off the UI and how it appears to me. I wouldn't be surprised to see some interesting things in the future.

Seems the FCC hurdles are majorly holding all their other stuff up hence my conservative guess of 2028

Yea the fcc hurdles seem to be the biggest pain. If it wasn’t for that I would already have a brand new 9430 on my tank. The app that I use for the orcas definitely leads me to believe there is a LOT more on the horizon from tunze which is amazing since they are such a great company. Would be really nice to have more offerings from them. I have yet to make a purchase from tunze that I’m not happy with.

In this case it is an ORCA head unit (approved) and we expect them to be ready in time for the holiday season this year. I have no word on pricing but I think realistically they are likely to be in the $400-$500 range as it is really about the same as a 0501 ORCA in build. They will work with the app, the basics of how this will work is ICP tests will be imported and from that it can calculate your consumption rate and note changes and automatically adjust, you can also manually input results from home tests but a lot of integration with the major ICP labs is in the works so your results will import directly from the lab.

Great news Roger, thank you. I assume we will also be able to just manually schedule dosing based on what we see fit correct?

I just called Felix and the price will be about half of what I guessed. Apparently the ORCA price is much higher from complicated proprietary cables and the carbon fiber pipe system and a few other parts and the doser will be in a reasonable price point for a premium dosing pump.

There will be a way to manually schedule dosing as it would be possible to use it for water changes for example.

I think this will be the new go to for continuous dosing setups. At roughly $250, nothing else on the market will compete. The Kamoer is around $380 and the Hydros Sole is $350.

Can the Hydros Sole operate in a stand alone mode? I just ordered the GHL Maxi 3SA. I’m very close to my FX-STP simply running out of flow for my demand I am going to try the Versa hack, but, I could never use the Versa for CARX or AWC. I’m really looking forward to Tunze unit coming out. On my new build I want to mitigate as much Apex control as possible.

To my knowledge, the Sole doesn’t need any other Hydros piece for it to run. I thought that was the appeal of the Hydros system “every module is a controller”

Looks like this pump uses a Kamoer pump as well, just like the sole. Just a diff model.
