Many of the reviews on the new Tunze osmo 3 ATO are negative. People having issues about it overflowing their tank, constantly have to clean the lens, or alarming.

It’s difficult to know if these problems are real or if only angry folks are writing reviews and plenty of users have had positive experiences.

I personally ran the old float valve version for years without issues but need a new ATO.

I dont own one. I purchased the older version just to be safe when I set my tank up last month. I am curious though, because I too, have read a lot of bad reviews. I do like the idea of a quiet pump, the previous version is loud.

Mine is on a 25g AIO and has been rock solid going on 5 months now. The nano version would have been better for this tank but I bought the Osmo 3 for my old 250 but never switched from the 3155.

They had some early manufacturing hiccups but addressed them immediately. Roger is easily one of the best in the business and I have no worries I’ll be taken care of should anything go wrong.

I can say that Tunze is probably the most reliable brand in the hobby. They did a TON of work to replace the 3155. They couldn’t afford to mess up and IME, they knocked it out of the park so far. The quieter pump alone is a major improvement

I’ve had the Osmolator 3 Nano for a few weeks now on a NUVO 15. I haven’t had to adjust it at all and it maintains the water level in my back chamber to exactly where I set it (unlike the old float switch it replaced which stuck open one day…)

I personally thought the 3155 was junk so I would never get the 3. ATOs should use peristaltic pumps. Low chance of overflow. Virtually no chance of back siphon and very accurate.

Only 4 votes. Most concerns seem to be worries rather than actual bad experiences.

I have used Smart, Duetto both failed within 6 months. I have used Tunze a number of times. The only issue I had with Tunze was the pump, that was because I ran kalk. Currently have the new Tunze Nano, works great.

I literally just received mine brand new out the box and its just flashing red.

what the heck worthless crap dud is that?

Now I have to troubleshoot a brand new 100+$ product?
