Hi, I had a Tunze9001 DC for my 30g Tank.

It was working perfectly and making a thick-slow skimmate or wet according to my settings until I deep cleaned it a few days ago.

Now, even at lower settings, it creates lots of super small bubbles that pop quickly like boiling water. No thick foam anymore and if I increase the speed, overflows into the collection cup like crazy. I also took it apart and reassembled it again but nothing.

The air hose is clean and empty and the skimmer sits at the same water level as before.

I had thought that maybe the biofilm needs to recreate itself but 2 days have already passed.

What should I do?

It may take more than 2 days for a nice film to reform. It took 3 weeks of adjustment to get it back to normal when I totally cleaned my skimmer. I do not clean any part of my skimmer except the cup.

Well, it's not the emergency you think it is. The hobby requires patience. Second, I think you answered your own question. If it's working perfectly, don't mess with it. Think back to when the skimmer was new, and that it took a while to start working.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
