So I’ve been toying with programming the skimmer.

I want it to turn off at 8pm for an hour and then back on.

I get it to turn off but it will not turn back on.

I’ll add a screenshot of my program.

You could ask apex support maybe...
Here's the correct version of that code
Fallback ON
Set ON
If Output Returnpump = OFF Then OFF
If Time 20:00 to 21:00 Then ON
Defer 005:00 Then ON
If Time 19:00 to 20:00 Then OFF
For an optional tweak you could do...
If Output Returnpump = OFF Then OFF
Defer 005:00 Then ON

I’ll give it a shot! Thanks.

Do you know if there’s a setting that waits an amount of time to kick it back on? I know I have it set for the hour.

My local time is 8-9p.

When I checked the dashboard at 9:45p, the skimmer had turned back on. I toyed with it a lot and waited 1,5,10 minutes and it hadn’t. So I’m wondering if there’s just a grace period until it kicks back on.

What Happened at 9:00 PM?

1. Your time-based rule:

If Time 19:00 to 20:00 Then OFF

This tells Apex: “Turn off the skimmer during the entire hour from 7:00 to 8:59 PM.”
That rule stays active right up until 20:59:59 (8:59 PM) — NOT 8:00 PM, as it might appear at first glance.

2. At exactly 9:00 PM (21:00):

That rule becomes false. Apex reverts to previous instructions, like Set ON or others.

If you also have Defer 005:00 Then ON, Apex now waits 5 full minutes of sustained ON condition before energizing the outlet.

3. So by 9:05 PM, the skimmer should turn back on if nothing else is overriding it.

That could mean:

Something overrode the ON state during or after the Defer period.

Apex didn’t have a sustained 5-minute window where all conditions allowed ON.

Possibly you toggled things manually (via Fusion app or dashboard), which resets the defer timer if the outlet turns OFF again.

Behavior You Likely Observed:

Time What’s Happening

8:59 PM Skimmer still OFF due to time rule
9:00 PM Time rule expires — Set ON becomes valid
9:00–9:05 PM Defer 5 minutes counts down
~9:05 PM Skimmer turns ON if no other OFF rule is in effect
After that Any manual interference or other rule could delay restart

Add a line like this to verify if time logic is behaving how you expect:

If Time 20:00 to 21:00 Then ON

This guarantees ON from 8–9 PM if other conditions are clear.

Also, if you want a precise OFF at 8:00 PM and back ON at 9:00 PM, update the time rule to:

If Time 20:00 to 21:00 Then OFF

That way, the skimmer is OFF from 8:00–8:59 PM, ON again after 9:00 PM.

I will give this a shot of tonight gets interrupted! Thank you

This is not correct. 19:00 to 20:00 will run between 19:00:00 and 20:00:59 which is will be off by 8:01 pm not 8:59. with the additional 5 min defer the actual time the skimmer would activate is 8:06
