As I removed “Climax Forest” of Green Star Polyps from 25 year mature system, 75G on top with 30G mud/cryptic refugium on bottom, I did not know what was going to be the new focus.

Then at Aquadome, I saw two tall trees that were almost too tall for 18” deep tank.

With respect to aquascaping, prior to two tall sponges, I knew that I wanted some island structure with much open space. With open space in mind, I wanted dither fish to hang out in the open and for that purpose Bangghai Cardinals came to mind, so I got 7 a week ago. This morning I noticed that when I turkey basted the sponges, the Cardinals started feeding aggressively. I could not see what they were eating. I also noticed Sea Apple feeding on stuff I could not see. Normally, I feed Sea Apples mysis shrimp.

I could use this tall pop of color in my tank!... One on the left side to compliment my huge gorgonian on the right!
Bryan,
Impressive tank startup.

With respect to Orange Tree Sponge in your tank, I will post pictures for you,

I am experimenting with 12VDC to use as an uninterrupted power supply for life support functions. I have two seperate 12VDC systems, one uses a RV battery tender rated for 1500 watts and a 500W inverter that runs two 70W Mag 7 return pumps on 75G & 120G displays and will run for 72 hours. There are no switching devices on this system.

While researching UPS system, I decided to get a 12VDC air pump and in doing so, I found some 12VDC 8W light strips as well as a 4” pancake fan. For this UPS system, I have a 20A battery charger and inexpensive automobile battery.

So, this picture is 16W of 7000 Kelvin color spectrum in 75G tank. It makes red sponge look a little orange.
