I dose two part. I use Randy's formula and make the two part. Right now I dose 9 oz of each part per day because it keeps my alkalinity up around 9dkh. I am starting to get some calcium on the rocks. So I feel like I am dosing too much of the calcium.

Does anyone have experience with dosing different amounts of two part?

I think that I might need to dose less calcium and keep the alkalinity part the same.

I dose 2 part as well (DIY, baked baking soda for alk, Dow flake for Cal). What is your Calcium at now? Do you have any pics of the calcium on the rocks?

My calcium was 420 the last time I tested, which was 2 weeks ago.
Alkalinity has been going from 8 to 5 daily, that is why I increased the dosage from 6 oz per day to 9oz per day.
9 oz brings the alkalinity up 3dkh.
The calcium is starting to cover some of the coraline algae.
I was thinking of keeping the baking soda at 9oz and bringing the dowflake down to 6 oz.
Just wasn't sure if that could be done since you are supposed to dose in the same amounts.

If you got an anhydous form of calcium chloride that could be the reason. It is 92-96% pure. Vrs the 70% or so for the dow flake variety.
