Hi guys!
Just this morning I noticed this on my fish. Does it look like a scratch to you guys or some type of outbreak?

I think it looks like another fish bit him. What other fish do you have?
I was thinking that maybe it was my starry blenny they were going back and forth a few minutes ago. I have a flame angel, pair of blackhawk picasso, royal gramma, Shanghai cardinal, and a blue chromis

Thanks I was told I would be fine since it was a mini carpet anemone. Looks like I have to set up another tank to put it in

Ah, I thought it was a gig or haddoni. Those are more dangerous when mixed with fish. Not sure how bad of a fish eater a tapetum can be, but I bet @Bob Loblaw would know.

Looks similar to a nem sting but placement and shape points to the Blenny. Tapetums don't pack the punch of their hosting cousins but still pose a threat to smaller and/or weakened fish.

Thanks so much. I thought blenny because it looked like marks that were in the glass from it eating algae. They seem to be fine now so I'll just monitor them both

Bristletooth tangs and starry blennies don't seem to get along real well ... they view each other as competition for the same algae resource. It may take a while for those two to fully accept one another.

I agree it looks like an injury but not a sting, in my experience— although anything is possible.

The more I read up on it I seen that. Except it was the other way around. I think maybe because my blennie was in first he was the aggressor. They tang picked at him a bit the next day. Now they seem to ignore each other
