everything is looking really good and i think your QT tanks look great ! i had one 55g QT and took it out and put in 2 14 gal nano's but not sure they will work as they are almost too small, jury still out on this but i like yours.

can wait to see the Main display take life as it is going to be amazing, GOOD JOB !!!!

So, since I made my feeding ring for my display, from acyrlic. I had a couple more ideas for it. Was sick of my Hanna checkers vials and syringes lying around. So I made a drying rack. I think it turned out great.

Up next, a fish acclimation box/fish trap, because honestly, why not lol

Um. You might be onto something with that. I'd buy a drying rack :D
Lol, I hate clutter, turned out great. I'm sure there is a great market for acrylic aquarium items. Wait till you see my acclimation box/fish trap ;)

Update.

Finally fish in the tank ;). So gratifying to see actual movement, and free swimming. It's awesome. Cant wait for next batch of fish to get it.

So I've ran into some problems with few pests in my coral/invert QT. I think it seems to be under control. Plus had a frogspawn sting some nearby corals. Which I now know to give more space in future.

Starting to see coraline algea in my frag tank. Good signs I guess.

Still working on my fish trap/acclimation box. Hoping to be done it soon. I'll upload some photos.

Few other things I've upgraded.
-added a prime to my QT3 tank. Seems to help not stress to the out. Compared to whit light I had on it.
-added module for temp control and monitoring for QT3
-added two PM1s for QT1 and QT2 also for temp control and monitoring. Feel safe knowing I can see temp and set alarms, as I've invested alot of money into corals. May add a ph probe for coral monitoring soon.
-added EB4 for QT3. Gives the ease of hitting feed mode. And all three QT tanks all shut off. Wether for feeding or maintenance.
-added screen tops to my displays tank. Getting ready for the jumpers.

I know not every has room or resources for QTs. But I think it will really pay off in long run.

Current fish list of next inhabitants.

-male squareback anthius
-flame hawk
-orage back fairy
••these guys are ready for disaply within next few days. Just bring sg up to display tank. As I run my QTs at low sg.••

-yellow coris x2
-white tail bristle tooth
-Aussi Scott's fairy
-skunk tile
-rosy scale fairy
••few more days of cooper. Then trasfer into sterile QT1 for the start of GC••

Next on the agenda is to start getting some coral into tank. Thing will be eligable for transfering coming up. Including coraline algea flakes I got from fellow reefer. I'm not taking any chances. I run all inverts and coral 45days. And get my next back of fish soon :)

@scott11106 what do you keep your dkh and cal at roughly? Thinking of starting to dose but scared to lol. My last few batches of salt were low dkh from what they should have been at 6.8.

Also if I dosed my display tank with just fish and inverts currently. Do fish or inverts have adverse effects from dosing to fast?

i dose 120mil per day of each but that is because my corals use it up and if you are fish only it most likely does not matter. i would recommend getting a calcium reactor instead of dosing for the main display but for the coral qc i would dose or just water changes daily.

General rule for alk change is no more than 1 dkH per day. So if you're at 6.8 and want to get to 8.5 you'd split the dose into 2 days dosing.
Mine was at 6.3 and I pumped it up to 8.7. Most people keep theirs around 8.3-8.7, some go higher, some go lower. Ca you want somewhere around 450. I keep mine betwen 425-450 since I don't watch it like a hawk.
Don't be scared to dose, especially if you're using a 2 part like BRS's pharma pouches. Super easy.

Nice, another thing I want, that's so expensive. I'll dose two part for now. But would like one, along with trident in future hopefully.

Worst part about my build to date?

THE CANADIAN DOLLAR IS PATHETIC.

Think of everything you've ever bought. Now add 25%. What a joke

I have the SRaquaristik products for dosing. What's the difference between the BRS pharma pouches? Stronger?

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
