Nice thread guys. I'll chime in with Greg...both of these acros require STRONG light and flow to develop the best coloration. I've noticed the rainbow will go mostly green if it doesn't get enough light. That's why it was so deceiving to start with...it wasn't until Greg really blasted his that the colors came out. One the "Joe the Acro" it also loves light and flow. I've actually tried to over do both flow and light and haven't been successful in over doing it LOL. Good luck and I'll be tagging along
I dunno I have it now in the dead middle of the tank where the flow is constantly whipping by. It is 30 inches underneath 2 Radions that run a long 20K cycle at 100% and it gets royals all night long. I do sunriose at 6:00 AM and sunset at 9:00 PM so the 20K rides from like 7 till 8. It goes to all royals at 11:00 PM. I would say that the majority of all my SPS issues were solved with MORE FLOW!
Thanks Joe for the kind words. Hope to have your avatar in my tank in 6 months.
I've had a piece for like 4 months now starting to color up it was given to me by a friend who's brother has the colony, got it brown now the greens and purple is coming out on the edges and tips. I'll snap some pics soon mine is 1.5-2"
This is the piece i got as the joe's rainbow. its just starting to grow and color up since i moved and am giving it more attention and space (the coralite structures havent really developed but i dont think they will stay so smooth looking)
