Ok, rookie mistake here but I’m by no means a rookie — ugh.

I had no lid on my 32g bio cube and one of my snow flake clown decided to carpet surf. Needless to say I’m devastated but I want a clown pair. My current clown is on the bigger side and not sure how he/she would take to a new clown tank mate. How do I introduce a new clown and be successful?

Sincerely, Devestated.

I'm not sure if this works with clowns but you could add a larger individual as your current one has established territory and will likely kill any smaller clowns. Though I'm not sure

you will be better off getting a smaller clown than your current one, especially one housed with lots of other clowns (a group of juveniles from a breeder) or one that is clearly a male in a pair at the LFS.

Don’t add a larger one as you may end up with two females.

Ya , definitely do not want to add a bigger one, good chances you already have a female. Add a smaller one, she should except him as he will be no threat to her dominance. I’ve done this before and I think this will go smoother than you are expecting.
