I have a few sps pieces that don't seem to be growing evenly. for some of them, half of the side is growing while the other half hasn't grown at all and others only a few branches seem to be growing. Is this normal? All parts of the sps are lighted evenly with good flow all around.

Yup totally normal.

I put a pink lemonade and a Cali blue tort in my tank and glued them down...
The pink lemonade has only encrusted for the past 4 months
And the Cali blue tort hasn't encrusted but is growing stright up.

U can't truly control how they grow, just be happy that they are growing.

They decide what they want to do LOL. I once saw a green slimer at an LFS display tank that grew one long brang across the whole aquarium and just to encrust encrust half of the back wall.
