Unidentified Skimmer

Hello everyone, I got this recirculating skimmer from a friend who got it from someone else. It’s a beast and seems to work well but there is no brand name in it. Can anyone identify the brand name? There is absolutely nothing written in it.

Recirculating EuroReef with the Ehiem pumps? Maybe an AquaEuro?

It should work well.

Yes it’s eihiem pumps. I can’t seem to find that skimmer searching for euroreef though. Any chance you know a website for it?

I doubt that EuroReef ever had a website. They had two designs - the early ones had heavy screw-on necks to attach the cups and the later ones had a collar on the cup similar to this. They mostly used Sedra pumps, but you could get some of them with Ehiem too.

The Venturi and 90 degree elbows, along with the cup neck and PVC all scream later generation EuroReef to me.

They went out of business and were rebranded Aqua Euro USA for a while.

I still have a few EuroReef bodies and they are great - probably better than any skimmer out today, or at least as good. I have moved away from the Sedra Pumps to HydroFoamers and Sicce PSK, but those Eheims were awesome and probably still are.

I am just guessing. I could be totally wrong.

Ah it’s a Euro reef re500 skimmer. I just need to find a replacement O ring for one of the unions and I’ll be in business. It’s missing one of 4. Should be able to find in a hardware store or online once I measure it.
