Been looking at one!! How big is it?

Like 3 inches. It's pretty unique. I don't even know how it eats, it hides all day and comes out as lights are ramping down. I think I'll get another though and they might hang out together.

I find it is a hilarious fish though. When I got it, like all biota fish, it was smaller so I grew it out in an Aquaeon 2 gallon and would manually feed it from the pipette mysis. It'd eat without the pipette, but fun to see it.

I think a display refugium with saltwater Molly and those would be a hilarious analogy to a planted tank and I'll look into that at some point. I have saltwater Molly too in a 10g.

If they are super skinny do not get them. No I did not QT I think after you get them eating you should deffinetliy QT them, I've not had a problem getting them to start eating but. I will lose them down the road when there fat and healthy for no apparent reason. If you can put them in with some other fish to give them the idea of hey that's food seemed to work for me. They would swim around in the mix with the other fish and then eventually started eating. You can take mastic paste and put on coral skeletons is a trick I've heard of also. If you have access to live brine Id pick that up also.

Hatching live brine as we speak, good idea for a dither fish, going into observation quarantine until I get them eating and then plan on running Prazi and metro.

Had it for a year and a half and hardly see it, but occasionally it will come and stick to the glass.

I kind of have a draw to odd fish.

I currently have the skilletfish, a Randall Assessor, black ice longfin clown, and a Hybrid Powder Blue Tang which are all kind of unique.

I just picked up the orange spotted filefish, one is pretty emaciated.

I want to get a spotted drumfish as well for the big tank if I can find one.

Literally just got these, these are in a quarantine tank, no meds, just observation.

This is the hybrid powder blue tang back in January. Hard to get a pic of it, but this you can see the coloring well.

And here it is with the Bluestar leopard wrasse that went through quarantine with it in January picking at a nori clip.

This is the current quarantine tank number 1 of two that has this trio in it since early February. They completed 14 days Copper, 3 weeks prazi and have been med free just observation. The cleaner wrasse is a Christmas Island cleaner wrasse, so a more unique color. There is a fourth fish in there, but it hides all day and eats the nori clip at night, so it is fat, but reclusive and it's a maculepsis tang.

I totally forgot, I have flashing tilefish pair coming in next week to a quarantine tank.

I'll snap a pic of the longfin black ice clown later and the assessor if I can.

They are cool, but I have a "no nuke the tank" policy. These are all prepping for a 200g tank that has been up and wet since Jan, just need things to get through Quarantine and get my Aquabiomics eDna tests back to assure no disease slipped through.

I can't have a box fish, cucumber, or something else nuke a tank with a carefully curated stocking list.

On the agenda of unique fish is splendid garden eels, I'll eventually add two Watanabe angels, one more of the yellow swallowtail angel you see in the pic of my QT tank, likely a koi scopas (not sure on which unique zebrasoma tang to add). I'll get a biota regal angel at the end of stocking.

Eyeballing a Madagascar damsel as well.

This boxfish will be in a fowlr tank with a peaceful blenny. They should be quite suited for each other. I wouldn't risk putting him with my stocked tank. Right now its 3.5 inches going into a 90g. And since they grow so slowly, I wont need to upgrade anytime soon. I just pray he makes it. From all my research, they have a high mortality rate.

That's what I read and watched as well. I will be ridden with anxiety until I know he's doing well and is healthy. All I can do is the best I can. Ill be watching him like a hawk.
