So this is my little pico it’s been going now for about 2 months. I love this thing it’s been doing great it’s starting to grow coralline like crazy.

Specs on the tank:

Tank:UNS 20T 3.2gal
Light: kessil A80
Filter: Mighty HOB w/ ceramic media and floss
ATO:Duetto

Maintenance: weekly 80% water changes with Tropic Marin Pro Reef.

I know some people are probably going to give me flack on this but, there is a green mandarin in the tank. He’s very well fed and taken care of. He gets

a bottle of pods a week as well as pod paste.

I also want to note I’m running the tank dirty on purpose. I’ve read things about mandarins being aggressive towards their reflection (no idea if this is true). So I’m not really cleaning the side glass, only the front. He was super skinny when I got him so I wanted to minimize any stress and just focus on getting him fat.

Just wanted to post a quick update. The tank’s doing pretty well.

I’ve replaced the mandarin with a little tomato clown.

I also swapped the filter for an AC30. I wanted more flow was the primary reason for the change. After getting it I decided to relocate the heater and the ato line into the filter. To not only clean up the aesthetics but also started a low dose of kalkwasser via the ato and that was the most “high flow” area to dump it.

How is this Pico doing, got any updates?

TIA
It’s doing pretty good over all. I have some GHA I’ve been dealing with and it seems to be going away.

I just started dosing it, I’m at .8ml a day of AFR. I really need to get a pump I’m just hand dosing it now. I do weekly water changes about 90% but I was getting about a 2dkh swing over the course of the week.

My clown started hosting to toadstool which I absolutely love. Non of my other clowns will host so it’s cool to finally have one.

Thanks for the update. :-)

The tank looks fantastic.

I am in the same boat. Didn't do a water change last week alk went from 10 to 7. Bumped it up with AFR, but I just need to put it on a pump.

Do you test N and P?

Manually topping off?

Thank you. I’m happy with it.

I tried kalkwasser but I nearly killed the tank, it was causing a lot of perception and actually lowered the dkh even more.

The only think I test for is alk. I should do more but I don’t. lol.

I use a duetto ato I have it dumping directly in the hob filter, I also have my heating in the hob filter.

Yesterday was the last day for the 20T. I was starting to feel like it was just too small of a space for my little clown so I moved him over to an IM 10g I have some plans on resurrecting the 20 in the future but it’s to the shelf for now.

Well I hate to see the Pico go into temporary retirement, I agree it’s too small for any fish other than small gobies.
The 10 gallon looks awesome though!
