So I just got a UNS 30a to upgrade my pico. The tank looks really nice, but the design has me a little baffled ( no pun intended). I don't understand how the rear chamber works. I have always run my ato on the pump side as the middle chamber would overflow into the pump chamber, isolating the pump chamber. This thing flows under the baffle, and there's no way to set separate water heights in the chambers. Also, the top of the baffles, where the U-shape is cut, is sharp as hell, and the edge definitely doesn't seem knocked down after it was cut.

Am I just missing something? Can I isolate the pump chamber for my ATO, or is the whole sump intended to be at a single height?

Also, the sponge is a terrible idea, it seems like a way to force people to buy an add-on. That stupid media elevation tray should be replaced with a floss holder.

Go back to your LFS . Where you bought it, and ask them how it works

lol I know how an aio works. I have several. This design isn't something I have seen before. I've never seen an aio where the water flowed under the pump chamber baffle; it's always flowed over it and into the pump chamber.
