Hi all,
I’ve added a ReefMat 250 with the UNS adapter but my sump is now super loud even with adding filter pad to the adapter box to try and dampen the sound. Do I have this setup properly?
Thanks

It's to allow the ReefMat to mount directly into the first chamber of the sump without requiring any modification to the tank's existing plumbing. Essentially, it acts as a funnel, directing flow from the bubble trap chamber into the roller mat. What does the UNS adaptor do for the Reefmat? I just have my Reefmat 1200 hanging on the glass of my sump. It is in a large mostly open area of the sump.
Do you have any pictures of the sump water level? In my experience, you will get dripping noises if your water level is below the bottom of the roller mat. You may want to raise the water height in the protein skimmer chamber (Using the clear acrylic baffle), as this will adjust the height in the roller mat chamber as well.
To give you an idea of water level for ReefMat: I have the Reefmat 1200 installed on a RedSea tank. The top of the circular black plastic inlets on the left and right sides of the unit are exactly 1.25” below the water line. You also need to look at how much water flow is being put through the Reefmat. Make sure it is within the range specified in the manual. It’s probably better to be less than the maximum. You can reducing your return pump flow and see if that reduces the operating noise.![]()
This is my sump level currently.
