Not sure what this bit of white patchyness is, i dont remember this in my last tank. Any guidance helps, thank you!

I'm not sure I see what you mean, but it's possible that sponges are growing on your rocks. I'm seeing mostly the rock structure which has some pores so I can't tell if there are sponges or it's just the rock itself.

If you are seeing white slime somewhere that can easily blown off you either have some bacteria growth on that spot or a form of Chrysophytes which appear in young tanks from time to time.
