If I upgrade my tank from 29 gal to 40 gal with sump , transfer everything over and it doesn't go into a cycle how aged is my tank ? Is it as old as the 29 gal or do I consider the 40 a new set up ? I'm asking bc I was interested in maybe getting a nem but I know the tank needs to be well established

If you started with live rock and transfer the rock over the tank is still cycled.

If you have a sand bed I would not transfer that without washing it very well.
