It has been a while since someone posted about coral dipping, so my new tank will be here tomorrow, and I am mentally preparing myself for the next step.
What is the most effective, yet cost effective, yet not to difficult coral dip process?
I have seen the bayer dip idea- not a fan of that being so harmful to us
Then i have seen coral RX on amazon which has great reviews
And then simple KCL and iodine? What does this process look like? Recommended products to buy?
Also, I have a list of corals I want, Pink Zoas, a mixed duncan, pink octospawn, rose gold hammer and a hellfire. Which ones can I do first, when tank is ready of course. 20 Gall lagoon.

I do not have a great location for managing filtration, water etc. No garage no entry mudroom. All things aquarium will be done in a guest room/office and jack and jill bath. i will be buying premade water until I have an RODI system. Still deciding if i want to put that in the guest bathtub LOL

Make it easy for me yall, I dont want to be overwelmed.
Also, no, i dont have a QT tank, that seems like too much to try to manage :)

Here's my go to list for dips: https://reefstable.com/blog/how-to-dip-coral

The thing is, we dip to address an issue. I don't dip corals before introducing to the tank--some people will be appalled but my philosophy is the coral is already stressed from being cut, shipped and in total darkness that dips tend to aggravate that further.

The dip I do most is lugols with peroxide for softies and LPS. I have coralrx for SPS.

WOW! I wasnted expecting a no dip response, however I get it. So with that being said, where do you get your corals? There are only 3 LFS to me, and honestly i have no clue which one is better or if it is best to go online. I worry about the stress of shipping

I am in a lot of FB groups of local reefers and out of state ones and a lot online. You can DM me if you have a store you want to inquire about.

I always dip my corals before placing into the tank. Not a big deal if you don't, it is just a precaution to get rid of any unwanted hitchhikers attached to the coral.

You're set up is completely fine (especially for a coral dip), but you could also manager your water changes and bigger maintenance issues with your jack and Jill bathroom. I did it for years dumping tank water in the bathroom, and replacing with pre made.

As far as dipping, I am currently using Tropic Marin coral clean (Similar to Coral RX). I simply fill a small container with 200ml of tank water and add the solution and place the coral for a good 10 minutes or so. Once the time is up, I give the coral a good shake, and place in the tank. Then I dispose of the solution. Simple, effective and it an extra peace of mind that something isn't being place in the tank that I do not want.

you can find the solution on Amazon or Petco for roughly $20

Thank you!

Ive only dipped for gha in peroxide.
I assume my six line is doing his job.

ok beyer sounds like the way to go, rinse and put in tank since I have no QT tank right now?

I've never used the Bayer insecticide, but it's sold near me, and I wouldn't have an issue using it, personally. Like @exnisstech said above, wear gloves and don't drink the stuff; problem solved 😉

I do use both CoralRx and Revive from Two Little Fishies (Julian Sprung), sometimes in secession without much issue. I also dip in peroxided for algae, I follow the guide from Justin Credible here:
