Found this in my dip on an incoming frag.

How deadly is a KCL dip on AEFW? Will one good dip nuke them? Or will it need multiple? I already clipped the base off. I dont have another tank set up at the moment for QT.

POTASSIUM CHLORIDE is very effective at killing Red Planaria. I used a 1G jug and soaked some yellow ball sponges and orange elephant ear sponges for 2 hours. Replaced 100% of water and observing now for 48hrs. Initially, flatworms turned white then dissolved. 4 table spoons of salt per gallon of water.

The KCl should kill AEFW but it won’t do anything about the eggs. Therefor you should plan for multiple rounds of dip. I dip all incoming corals once a week for at least 4 weeks.

Eh... I might just trash it. I really wanted a blue stag, but without having a QT tank set up, I dont think it's worth the risk.

I did 2 30 min KCl dips and clipped the base off a solid 1" from the bottom, but risking an infection just doesn't seem worth it...

100% trash it. And if it is a vendor here please post where it came from.
