Hello my fellow reefers, i'm new to the hobby but ready to dive a little deeper into some better equipment. I have 2 nano tanks that im looking to upgrade the lightings on to hopefully have better luck with my SPS corals.

On my 15 gallon I currently have an 18w IOAIO full spectrum light off of amazon

Then my 2 gallon just has the light it came with which isnt bad, my zoa, gsp, and xenia enjoy it but i know it could be better.

Im looking into these lights currently but any help would be greatly appreciated 😊

Kessel is a good reef light. Never used that one though. I have the dalua pixel fragger, but I did have to buy the bracket, the scheduler, and the power outlet. Total cost for one light was around $230,

I have a Kessil a80 tuna blue on my Eshopps Deskmate. It’s growing multiple LPS, SPS, and softies just fine. I don’t think a single one would be good for anything much larger than 7-8 gallons though.

I figured if i went the kessil route it would be more pricey since id have to buy the controller thing to make it automatic for another $100, but if its worth it its worth it.

Would the one kessil a80 be overkill on the 2gl?

I was looking into the Ai16hd for the 15gallon! Would that run fairly similarly to the kessil?
You need 2 16hds on that system.
One to start is fine.
I run 2 on my 20×12×12. 1 gives 100 par @ 100% and 2 gives 240 @ 70%.
I run a gen 5 xr15 blue, ab+ @100% on my 15.
Take a look at a used xr15. I have 5 and all were bought used.
Both systems.
