The levels of Ca/alk/mg were super low after I got water in my new tank. I've been dosing heavy to bring up the numbers. No fish or corals yet. I get the numbers at least up into range and next test (2 x's day) they are low. Here are today's example from last night to today. And with heavy dosing this morning
mg 1200/1230 (was 1140 at fill)
CA 360/340 (was 300 at fill)
Alk 8.5/8.1 (was 6.1 at fill). My old tank around 9
Salinity is 1.025. Was 1.022 does go higher as I don't have the ato hooked up and still trying to figure out my levels

I just dosed (based from brs):
Alk: 4 fl oz
CA: 16 oz
MG: 20oz

I used 3 different salts. Fritz (in the 65g container-wanted clean salt there). And IO for the rest with a bit of LA which I had left. I went IO as 225 gal is a lot of saltwater at once! I'll prob. settle on Fritz or another "clean" salt with no anti caking agents

so is this normal? Hoping to get it stable so I can add the corals and fish tomorrow

Can't really comment until you tell us what test are you using (from what Mfgr) and are they within the expiration date
