I found a 29 gallon biocube with stand on Craigslist for $120. So I couldn't pass up the chance to upgrade from my 14 gallon. I swapped everything over from my 14 gallon except the sand. I added 20 lbs of Bahamas Oolite sand. The sand is very fine and clouded up the water for a few hours but after it all settled it looks great. I also liked the rimless look on my 14 gallon so I decided to do the same thing to this tank as well. Here are a few pictures and I will update the livestock and equipment later.

Did you remove the rim off the tank or is that how it came. I also have a 29gal tank that I would love to do the same thing to mine

I removed it. It's pretty easy. The hardest part is trying to take the rim off in one piece in case you ever need to put it back on.

The water does evaporate a lot faster I will be looking to build/buy an ATO in the near future. My tank was up and running when I removed it. You just have to be more careful and go slow with it.

Hey Bruce! I was wondering how you take the rim off, I am going to try, but I don't want to mess up. Thanks!

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
