Not a drawback, but you'll need to get the correct sized flush valve/flow restrictor. Now I have a 180 gpd 4 stage water waver from spectrapure, what are the drawbacks of buying 2 150 gpd membranes, if any (or 100 gpd membranes)

This my current unitI would contact someone like @Buckeye Hydro to get the right membranes and flow restrictor information to go with you specific ro/di unit.
You actually have two 75 gpd membranes, but the vendor has told you to run them at 10 psi over the factory spec. Guess what? If you run any 75 gpd Filmtec membrane at 60 psi rather than 50 psi (the manufacturer's spec), it will produce about 90 gpd.
