My new urchin has lifted a plastic pipe as seen in the photo , is this normal ?

Yep, that's normal. Tuxedo and pincushion urchins will carry around small items with their spines.

Thanks for the reply , thought it was a bit much for him / her considering that pipe is 3 inches long.

yes you have to glue/epoxy down everything, literally

They grab anything they can to camoflouge their bodies.....gets annoying when they start picking up other snails or frags lol.

There are hats that are available for them to wear as well. They look hysterical with them!
