Urchins are hard workers. But I think they have a union, and they don't take kindly to competition from non-union labor.

Yes, that's an astraea snail stuck to my tuxedo urchin.

Urchins are great, and do a good job, but you'll have to get used to them trying to camouflage by picking random stuff up whenever they can haha.
 
Urchins will pick up all kinds of stuff all around your tank. Make sure you remove the snails stuck to them. If you don’t free the snails they will die.
 
Yeah, I rescued the snail. I do like astraeas, but the urchins really do a better job of stripping the rock bear. And the lazy snails hit the glass en masse instead of cleaning the rocks if I don't keep on top of the flipper usage. I've only seen an urchin on my glass once or twice.
