First mistake: Preheating oven. Leave that frozen pizza in there while it preheats!!!
Second mistake: Getting a pizza that takes 30 minutes to cook. Way too long!

I am not found of chemi clean not sure what else to do.

Cyanobacteria is the superfood of the ocean. Rotifers, copepods, amphipods, hermit crabs, snails, and lots of other stuff eats it. Under the right conditions, other algae will out compete it. I would add any of the above you don't already have in your system along with live phytoplankton if you can get it.

@Brew12 I’m probably gonna go for some of the automation on my 240 first. It may push back my 425 a tad but will be worth it. I so can not believe I slept in so late Urgh. I didn’t get off work till probably 230 am but woke up at 10. I missed all the cartoons :(.

Ahhh frozen pizza lol my Nemis. Sit in the couch w my fav pillow and blankey, watch cartoons and then darn wake up to a horrible smell and smoke alarms going off. Then feeling really dumb because I fell asleep on the couch waiting for it to cook to where it becomes one with the oven and over grate. Than I have to clean my oven so now I order pizza lol, I just have to worry about the poor delivery person standing st my door going is this person gonna answer or leave me out here all night in the rain or snow or dry heat. What a lovely person this should be, I better get a large tip and if they don’t answer soon I’m eating this thing.


Still trying to figure my 240 out, I have done less feeding and less light and every other day or two days a small section of cyano comes back. I am not found of chemi clean not sure what else to do. Flow has been changes as well. Maybe putting the wave maker towards the corner of the glass will help

I was gonna do lids but heard they really mess with the led lights. Any thought on this and @Sorcha2 thanks for the idea.

I have two colonies the largest one is in my 54 and is directly under a aquamedic 25o hqi/t5 combo.it sits 6 inches under the surface with the light 8 inches above the tank.the second is in the 200 and is under marsaqua 165w leds at 70% blue and 30% full spectrum.it grows faster with deeper blues in the 54gal.grows alittle slower under the led but has only been under them for the last three months so not long.par on the led is around 350.i have not ever tested the par on the 250watt hqi sense I can't adjust it anyway.it seems to be bullet proof and it's servived under less than ideal conditions at times.i have spread it around my reef club (cmas} and it has done very well with those members.t never seems to encrust however just grows out of the plug and branches like crazy.
I have never shipped corals myself so i'll have to ask our members for a little advise.i believe I would pack exactly like the ones I have had shipped to me in one of the same insulated boxes.should not be that difficult to do over night.let me know when your ready.
as for chemiclean.i have used it over the last 20 years every time I have had a out break at half strength.it has ALWAYS taken care of the issue and NEVER caused any issues with my fish or corals.it really is amazing how this product can take care of a cyno problem in a few days with no ill effects.no one likes adding chemicals to a reef tank me included but this one works great and is coral safe from my experence

@Brew12 so if I add more turbo snails and hermit crabs etc they will feast on the cyano. I always thought that it was do to having dead flow spots and too much nutrients and possibly too much light. But I can add another ten or more turbo snails and ten to fifteen more crabs. Now that my nitrates are below ten, I assumed most of my sps corals would jump back up. I have one or two that seem worse with less nitrates. All other parameters are spot on. According to sources they say sps like between 2-5 ppm of nitrates but keep seeing 20 is better. Guess I learned the hard way and should have just left things alone, meaning leaving the third light off.

@mike werner im totally in awe your so kind. What do you keep your water parameters at? I have never shipped either but of course I’d pay for that and I will find away to comp toj for the Oregon tort for sure. I just wanna make sure I don’t lose any more sps. What’s hard is my new colonies are doing just great even with the issues. It’s mt older massive colonies from my old tank that are so mad. It’s kinda odd, I have had one that still is doing well (think it’s pink lemonade) and it was super pretty and now it’s kinda red brownish. The Polyps are still out and I see no bleaching but my five inch plus massive sps colonies are what’s just going south. What’s oddly enough is the ones I’m losing are not the ones I ordered online but just basic ones from my lfs. Most of them I have had since 2015. It’s really confusing to say the least. I’m still feeding the fuel and oyster feasts, maybe I guess try reefroids again.

Now that my tank parameters are amazing again, you would think the corals would love it, nope. Well at least they are not dying on me. Lost some pretty colors but they should I think come back. Not sure if I should keep my lights at acclimation or back to normal now. Hmmmm


@tiggs lol make sure you bring your scuba gear and watch out for sharks. We could make our own movie of jaws :), and it would be more like money, frags and turbo snails lol.

@Katrina71 lol I can make that work, there are six per box so maybe 10 boxes lol, oh and like six gallons of milk and lots of alphabet cereal. Lol that’s funny I would so get beat on that one. I can’t remember the last time I said a cuss word unless dangit (or aka darnit but the normal version is one. I accidentally said a bad word once has a child lol. Wow did my parents get after me lol. My mom bought some of those tootsie pops and I loved them. So when I was like 5 I think maybe 4 I asked
My mom, “can I have one of the little suckers (only said the f word) and she goes Sarah what did you say and i said “mom you know those little suckers (only the f word) you suck on all the time”. Lol my parents have never let me live that day down. My parents literally flew off the handle lol, as my dad was cracking up while trying to scold me lol, I was sent to my room, and had to sit on my bed. Then my mom spoke to me (as she tried to not laugh), and said that every time time I say a bad word it would make the bad word monsters come out. Then they would wrap me up like a mummy in Scooby doo and swing me from the ceiling to scare all the other little kids away. They are so mean lol, it was honest mistake lol but haven’t said any. Yes I still check my bed for monsters randomly at night. :)
