I’m clueless when it comes to electrical stuff, so I’m wondering if someone can help?

I have an AutoAqua Smart AC Socket to be able to use a different pump with my ATO setup. The problem is, the pump is an Avast Marine DC Diaphragm Pump.

What’s weird is, the AC socket powered the DC pump just fine at first, but now that I’m trying it again, the socket just doesn’t seem to turn on.

Did I break it? Is it faulty?

Thanks!

The diaphragm pump says it comes with a 24v power supply.
It should plug into a 120v wall outlet without issue.

Have you tested your ato with it all hooked up and if you remove it and put the original pump back in, does the ato function again?

Should be as simple as plugging it into a working outlet, plugging the pump into it and then plugging the barrel connector into the controller.

U can also unplug the pump and plug it straight into a live outlet and see if it starts to pump.
If so its the autoaqua outlet not jiving.

Okay, I actually just confirmed that the smart AC outlet works by plugging it into a power supply. The light turns on, and it provides power. That means the problem lies with my Duetto ATO.

I have no idea what could be wrong. It’s basically acting like the sensor is under water, but it’s not, and it’s 100% clean.

Any ideas?

Unplug the pump and plug in a light.
Take sensor out of water.
If light lights up, then pump or power supply problem
If no light then smart socket or sensor problem.

Maybe its only compatible with the auto aqua ato controller :( it says on the website its for use with their atos only.
Possibly wrong voltage/amps coming from the smart sockets barrel plug.

Unless someone else said it works with the XPaqua duetto ato.
I use the same ATO by the way but havent tried using another pump.

You may need to purchase the auto aqua ato or bite the bullet and get the rest of the avast kit.

Well, that’s the thing. It worked at first.

Also, I tried it with the stock pump. No joy.

Seems like the sensor is broken, or something. It’s basically acting like the sensor is underwater, and not proving power to the pump port.

I think it’s the sensor. The ATO is acting like the sensor is underwater, even though it is not, and not proving power to the pump port.

You may have fried the controller :(
The smart outlet may have provided too much power since the duettos pump is so small....

But they’re designed to work together. It also worked at least twice. Seems more like the controller just crapped out on me.

Great. And I got it like 2 years ago, so I doubt it’s under warranty.

No, you may be mistaken.... maybe the company name threw you off lol.

The auto aqua smart outlet is designed for the auto aqua ato.

The xp aqua duetto is a different system and company. :(

This is the exact product, and it says it works with the Duetto. Not to mention, it did for a while.

Even though the dc barrel jack fits, the voltage and amperage for the duetto is only 12v. Plugging a 24v powersupply into it is your issue and why the duetto doesnt work anymore.

Im actually somewhat providing bad info,
The autoaqua smart outlet looks like it provides AC power.....
Which is bad too because the duetto is DC

Im not sure what the real issue is here now because comparing the two, they are the same it seems.....
Possible you accidentally plugged the barrel connector of the ac switch into the power supply port of the duetto?
Something caused your controller to freak out if its not even running the original pump.

Silly question,
Have you tried power cycling the controller?
