Can I use a long air stone for beneficial bacteria I’ll leave it off and have another air stone going but I’ll use the air stone for bacteria since it has many small pores so that my rotifers or clownfish fry can’t get stuck in i haven’t seen any discussions on this and just wanted to see if it was good.

Not adequate hole size for newborn clownfish and probably pretty cramped for pods also. Get some live rock rubble for the pods, the clownfish will be eaten by the parents.

It’s not for hiding it’s just for the beneficial bacteria the fry are in their own tank but the holes are Fr the bacteria so the holes are small enough so that the clownfish can’t get in

Bacteria grows on everything thats in the tank.... the glass pvc wires filters heater, etc.... if you put the airstone in the tank, after a few days it will have bacteria on it.

You can keep the air stone in the tank, but I don't think it'll make a huge dent in terms of an active bacteria population. You're better off adding a bag of something like bio-spheres or Marine Pure.
