I'm in the process of a new build and still learning how to use the Apex controller and Kessil lighting. My Apex controller is connected to my Kessil A360X lights via IOTA with the Kessil WIFI dongle. I'm seeing a weird lag in the lighting schedule where the light intensity and color is taking much longer to ramp up and ramp down than what I have scheduled. This is just a test schedule but as you can see in the config at 11:00 AM it should be at 40% intensity, but almost 40 minutes later at 11:40 AM, the intensity in the Fusion dashboard on the Kessil tile still shows only 11%. Has anyone seen this?

Switch to the graphical schedule view so we can more easily see all the settings. Reading the tdata code is difficult to decipher.

Here is the schedule. Its basically running at 3% with violet set to 1 for a night time moon light and then full 100/100 for blue/white ramping up to 60% intensity. I'm just trying to learn how this works. I will bet adjusting colors and intensity to appropriate values once I begin adding corals. I assumed the intensity changes would be instant , am I doing something wrong or misunderstanding how it works?

If I’m not mistaken, I think the intensity shown above the dashboard tile is the cumulative percentage of all the light spectrums combined. If you have all the individual spectrums set to 100%, and on the graph the overall intensity set to 40%, then you’d see 40% on the dashboard tile. But if some of the individual colors are lower than 100%, that reduces the value shown on the dashboard.

I hope that explanation makes sense.

I'm not really hung up on what Fusion dashboard shows, but last night the lights should have dropped to just the single point of violet at 16:30 and it seemed like it took almost another hour and a half longer before it got there. I have not played around with using the Kessil app directly instead of Apex but I guess I should try that as well. I think the main takeaway here is that it appears that the lights gradually ramp up or ramp down to each data point as the bell curve implies. It is not an immediate jump from 3% to 40% to 60% as I was thinking it would be.

Wow, this seems silly but I was noticing that the schedule was lagging exactly 3 hours behind so I suspected a timezone issue. Sure enough when I went to the clock setting on the Fusion dashboard it was set to -8.00 (Pacific) instead of -5.00 (Eastern). I thought it was a little odd that the dashboard showed two clocks - local time as well as an Apex time. Once you set the timezone to your local time the dashboard just shows a single clock. Glad it was something simple in the end lol.
