Using bio pellets

i would like to know is someone has advice on using bio pellets.
I currently am running phosgaurd and carbon wanted to know is I would discontinue there use when running bio pellets

When starting the pellets I would pull the phosguard but keep running carbon. The pellets will need some phosphate to get the bacteria growing on the pellets. After about 8 weeks you can slowly add back the phosguard to help with phosphates. And the pellets will take care of nitrates
