Alright thanks, too bad nobody in the stores seems to know or care.. That's not just 60 bucks wasted, but people might actually start dosing based on the results.. Sending out some emails, hope it's just unknown and not a money grabbing thing.

My expectation is that Hanna made and markets it for its pool and spa market, and the many LFS don't understand chemistry sufficiently.

Great write up and we are testing this today this will be a lifesaver if it works accurately which i'm sure it does from your research.

we tested it a few times and we got a reading of .014 which would be 140UG/ we are converting it to UG/l because we used to test iodine and rely on our triton ICP test

our triton ICP results are reading 88 UG/l

Have you tried to test against the triton ICP? maybe the triton ICP is off or maybe our testing with your method is wrong.

We are currently using the Syringe from the hanna test kit maybe it is wrong measurement and we need a lb grade one.

any thoughts on this why the Triton ICP is lower?

Hello all,

it looks like this will only test from 2-10ML but we need below 1ML

where can i find the correct one?

The difference seems not that large to me, and given that you cannot know the samples were the same after all the time it took to get to Triton,, even if collected at the same time, that difference is not surprising.

We re did the test and it is spot on. Thank you so much for the thread. It was impossible to test for Iodine before this and we where sending in a triton ICP test every 2 weeks on 4 systems to measure Iodine :) alot of money saved

here is a little chart in case you don't want do to the calculations just check the ranges. We will print this sheet out and use it as a guide so not have to run the calculations each time

Hi,

I really appreciate the expertise and contribution shared with us here.

Maybe someone pointed it out earlier, but I think the equation without the temperature correction has a typo in it. It says:

Y= -0.0003292492 * X+ .01973653

I believe the constant is off by a factor of 10 and should be 0.1973653, so that:

Y= -0.0003292492 * X+ 0.1973653

I didn't redo the regression, just compared values between the two equations.

I'll just delete this post if it's wrong!

With appreciation,
Dan
