Using some old corals I’ve had in my basement for the last 20 years. Good idea, bad idea?

If you don't know exactly what was on/in/around them don't pressure wash them. You don't want to render something potentially toxic and make it aerosol. You can acid bathe them/bleach them. There are loads of videos/posts on it. Good looking pieces.

Up on a shelf getting dusty or in the corner with oily rags piled on them with old insecticide sprays dripping on them by the radioactive waste?

No in a bucket with some rock.
