Having a UV sterilizer after refugium really kill natural zooplankton and phytoplankton?

I read this today and I’m really considering replumbing my UV now (new pvc elbows, piping, etc).

What do y’all think?

I doubt it's enough to worry about, and I doubt the location of the refugium really matters. Most of the water leaving the fuge isn't going to go through it. And then even if you moved them, it's still going to go through it before getting to the refugium again. I can't see any reason why the overall concentration would matter before or after.

Certainly isn't worth doing your plumbing over.

UV Sterilizer is plumbed in my return line.

All of it will make it through the UV.

I thought about it, wanted everyone else’s input. Thank you

What did you decide on. I’m building a refugium in my 32 gallon AIO with uv above the pump. Does the Uv need to be turned off?

I just seen ich on my fish more than usual. I pulled the sleeve from uv and had to clean it because it was dirty. Not sure if from having uv after refugium but I clean it every 4-6 months.
