What brand for UV lifeguard or Aqua and why?

Aqua. Cost effective, good bulb life and great reliability

Aqua used them for years in ponds and in aquariums parts easy available very durable. But lifeguard and emperor are all 3 top notch been around for ever used all 3 brands guess comes down to preference and cost. Used cheap brands and garbage yes going get the cheap ones are good too but you get what you pay for !

So Aqua is better then lifeguard?

Might also want to look at TMC. I bought their 110 pond unit and have been very happy with it. There’s really not all that much to a UV.

Plastic that doesn’t degrade when subjected to uv is ideal :)
