Hey reefers what’s the best way to plum a uv sterilizer directly to the return to the tank, or a separate pump in the first chamber and have it come out to the return?

Closed loop is probably the best way - last compartment of sump is intake, output is directly in tank.

Easy if you simply connect uv to return pump, trickier if dual pump return, but, in every way better than using sump as input-output.....

Direct if you want all water to go through it. Honestly both work, but depends on what you are trying to use it for. My opinion only:
* parasite control + dyno killer = direct
* algae control = doesn't matter, can be on a separate pump.

With a UV the key is contact time, so the slower the better. Run a tee off your return then add a ball valve to control flow and loop back into your sump, use a separate power head or you could try an all in one like the mean green killing machine
