UV Sterilizer, 24/7 or on a set schedule?

I just turn it on for a few days when I feel like it. I like to have “refresh days” where I’ll use ozone and UV for a day or two to get the water super crisp.

I run uv 24/7 unless I am dosing something. Then it is normally off for 4 hours

Round the clock for me. Was pausing for dosing phyto. Now that I'm culturing my own phyto I don't bother it survives in tank just fine. Esp since UV flow is low now due to an ich magnet added about two months or so ago. The ich magnet is improving so may restore the flow soon..

Ich magnet = powder blue tang.

24/7 . I had coral and fish death that may have been associated with bacterial infection. I have a 25w lamp and a small pump to long enough dwell time inUV
