Hi

New tank build..
Tank size - 6x2x2

What shall I set the output to on the vectra M2? Will be running low for a day after the sand settles but want to know what to set it to after this period.

Will be mixed reef tank in the long run.

Thanks

How do you account for head pressure?
Oh I'm sure there is some math formula for it but I just estimate based on how far up it has to climb and the overall distance. Med to large tanks can lose 200gph with head pressure from what I've read.

I believe
150 uk gallon in display
55ish in sump
So about 160 U.S. gallons. Add in rock display and you probably have 125g of water. 5x turnover over is 625gph. Say you lose 200gph due to head pressure puts you at roughly 825gph. M2 is 2000gph so if you run it at 50% you are pushing 1000gph through your tank. I think this is a reasonable starting point. I run mine higher because it's 4 years old and never been cleaned so I'm sure it has reduced GPH. Just visually check your return nozzles so you have a good solid stream coming out.
