vermetid snail ?

So I guess we've decided it's a vermetid snail do I just pluck it off with my long feeding tongs, is there a chance of not getting it with one pop, is it going to just pull off easily should I plan on needing to pull the plug out and cut it off

I believe most people just put a dab of super glue gel over the tube so that the critter dies inside. I'd probably remove the frag and give it a thorough look over though just to make sure there aren't any more. I had a frag of zoas that was on a small piece of rubble glues to a plug on either side. I accidentally knocked it off the plug and the gap between super glues blobs there was a vermetid snail! that one was on a flat surface so I popped the whole shell off and and superglued over where it was (just to be safe and to re attach the frag).

@ZipAdeeZoa is right, the best way is to superglue it inside, with tweezers you will brake the top part, will damage it a bit, but that's it, it will recover, or will retract it self in the inner section, and there it have enough space for. I had one which was really big, the tube was over 8-9mm OD gell superglue, and I use the tube to seal frag with macro alg. on it, it was really strong to hold it. don't brake them, you have to scratch all the surface to the hard rock to go rid of it, seal it.

I've had great luck with bumblebee snails and / or emerald crabs killing vermetid snails and colonial hydroids.

Vermetids are annoying and not great in the long term, but you may find that cutting some bumblebees and emeralds loose may help contain the problem without so much gluing.

never saw SW bumblebee to kill anything, instead the FW Bumblebee it's assassin

I break them with a tweezer or a plier and then let my hermits and shrimps finish the job.Works very well.

I see them climb on top of the vermetids from time to time. They also compete for excess food.

Coral putty or Gel superglue does the job. Breaking the housing fir it at the base also works assuring it is ALL gone though.

Just never seen it yet, and I do love the bumblebee have many, never seen them on vermetid

The deal with the bumblebee snails (Engina sp.) is that they're generally fine but if there is not enough food they will prey on other snails and stuff like mentioned above.

ok, I believe you, just never seen it on the particular one, but I know the mother nature tel us 1st, haven't seen it don't mean isn't true.
