I have an Ecotech Versa doser on my 60g reef tank. It’s set to dose 3.5ml over 20 seconds of All for Reef 10 times per day. I use the ecotech clear dosing lines. When the pump returns home it sucks air back in. Eventually this air travels up to the pump. I can’t be sure it’s actually dosing 3.5ml after about a week due to the air. I stuffed a piece of pipette in the end but didn’t help. Is the air normal? Is it still accurate? I purge the line before calibration but that doesn’t mean much when the air returns.

Check the collar where the rodi tubing plugs into the versa. Those seem to always crack or become brittle somehow and start sucking air in. I've had to replace them on a bunch of my versas

It’s only 2 months old. The air is coming in from the output end. They warrantied it when I first got it because the air would get past the rollers and end up in the suction line. The suction side stay free of air now. I have watched it dose and when it returns home the air gets sucked in and then eventually travels up.

the only place air could get in after the roller is the collar. i'd still recommend to check it and verify that all your connections seal correctly. Make sure the tubing is seated correctly onto the barb and the hose clamp is seated correctly

It’s definitely coming in from the output end. You can watch it dose then it runs backwards to return home then air enters the line from the open end. It eventually travels up the line. Never enters the pump area. Just up to the pump.
