Versa When to Replace Tubing

For the kamoer peristaltic pump it recommends replacing the tubing every 3 months if running continuous. No info on that for the Versa. Should we replace it about 3 months as well? I know the tubing setup cost more than kamoer replacements

Theres no official replacement requirement. They chose a tube with better resiliency than the kamoer.

Ecotech has simulated 100s of years of awc with the same tube.

I would approach tube replacement like this: whenever the monthly calibration is so far off (20%) the previous presaved settings, I would order a replacement.

the "same tube" claim is just unbelievable to me. i have just reported my versa tubing going bad after 3months of usage in the calrx application. therefore i cannot see how this claim can be remotely true.

@dragonfisher33 I replied to your other post but I am going to put it here also...

Those look like crimp fittings holding the hose on. If they are, they can be removed with the crimp tool (or screwdriver, or other tool). Sometimes they can be reused. If you can buy the hose then you could save some money.
I know it does not solve the problem of the part wearing out fast, but it may give you another option when they do wear out.

i would like to see how they are claiming/touting doing 100s of years of awc in the same tube.

Hmmmm that isn’t even that much speed either. Mines been at 30ml per min and doing good ever since I’ve posted thread.

it’s bad because it’s now harden and the roller will not bable able to squeeze the liquid inside the tubing to achieve the liquid output.

I don’t own a versa (anymore) but surely those crimps can be cut out and new tubing bulk sourced and reconnected with zip ties. That what I do for both my MasterFlex and DOS pumps (though it did take me a while to get the right peri tubing for the latter).

Is this a real thing esp 3 months with Kamoer as well? The spectrapure LM3 just works and keeps working without failure for AWC. Best on the market imo. I was going to grab a Kamoer 4 head pump to replace a real old bubble magus 3 channel doser for my dosing needs. Almost better to go with a 2nd LM3 if these are all need such frequent tube changes?

Depends on your usage and application. For dosing of 2-part/amino acid, I don’t see it as a problems

but if you use it for continuous (note: not automatic water change) water change or calcium reactor, then you need to look elsewhere

It's an inherent trait for all peristaltic pumps. Being that they are positive displacement pumps they're work better when pushing rather than pulling.

When pulling, a vacuum is created on the backside (inlet side) and strains the resiliency of the soft tube. External pressures act upon it trying to collapse it. The greater the vacuum the greater the force trying to collapse the tube.

If you limit the restriction on the backside the integrity of the tubes elasticity will last longer.

Pushing on the other hand is where a positive displacement pump shines. Your biggest limitation is the amount of torque available from the motor.
