Hi to all, was wondering if anyone has encountered the same type of bi-color octospawns i have. they have seemed to change color’s over the years based on low light spectrum and nutrition. I got them 20 years ago when they came from the ocean direct

If it helps, some of mine have gone through color change or shades

Welcome! Glad you joined. I'd defer to others as to specifics BUT given how important light and food are, I'm not surprised. Us humans only lighten and darken in response to sunlight, but if we had different additional possibilities then we might be a much more colorful species... though, if I ate too much McDonald's vs Panara Bread and it showed... perhaps some of us would take it too far and eat to change our colors to match our outfits or events... Perhaps its good we're limited to just human flesh tones... we make too much of those as it is... going back to corals, some change PAR to force different colors (think Walt Disney to get pinks) but defer to others on your octospawn...

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

This might help you find people local to you:

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:
