Had to take our 17 year old beagle (Fran) to the vet this morning for euthanasia. Long downward spiral, followed by not eating or drinking the past couple of days.

I know how many reefers also have dogs. perhaps folks can post photo's of their happy dogs to make this a cheerier day. :)

This is a picture of her (left) and another beagle we had for many years (Jake) on the right taken years ago as they sunbathed on our back patio.

I'm sorry for your loss. 17 yrs is a more than respectable age for a beagle. Our Charlie (yup from Darwin) is 13 years and hopefully following her example.

Very sorry you had to make the decision, though 17 years is a great run and you know that pup had the best time with you.

Took a few years after my pup passed to get some more but I’ve got two great puppies in my life again.

Sorry for your loss. This last May we had to say goodbye to our 15 yo kittie Mika. She had a rapid loss of health as all older animals can unfortunately. But like you, we had many wonderful and fun times with our furball. We now have a new furbaby in the house Xena who’s quite the mischief maker.

My two puppers. The larger, black one has no teeth, and her tongue is always hanging.

Sorry for your loss man.

Sorry for your Loss. I've been there quite a few times through the years and it seems to get harder each time.
Here's my boy and girl.

My grandfather gave me this year's ago. The older I get the more it really is how I feel lol

we ended up not being able to get him to vomit, and he was fine any way.
If your already aware of this I apologize. Hydrogen peroxide is good for inducing them to vomit. I don't bother measuring, I just pour a bunch down their throat.

Sorry for your loss; it's never easy.

Was it on a kibble diet, wet or raw?

She mostly had Beneful healthy weight kibble for many years, but also had treats like part of my wife's breakfast of peanut butter toast every day (the left over corners). :)
